It was a walk in the park for the two-time champs. Delhi started really well and then collapse to their seventh sub-100 total. Andre Russell, the big-hitting West Indies allrounder, played a superb role as a frontline bowler during the recent ICC World Twenty20. Russell and Hogg, three wickets apiece, ran riot amongst the Delhi batsmen, whose daredevilry led to their downfall.
Once Kolkata had restricted their opposition to 98, there was no coming back. Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa added 69 for the the first wicket to all but confirm the result.
