Army pays homage to Naik Subedar KVS Reddy

Telangana99.com-Srinagar: Army pays homage to Naik Subedar KVS Reddy who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in Pulwama yesterday, Sources said that police and security forces cordoned off Drubgam Village in the jurisdiction of Rajpora police station in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday afternoon after a specific tip-off on presence of militants in the area.

While the cordon was being tightened, militants opened fire from a hideout that triggered off an encounter.

Two militants were killed in the encounter and a soldier was hit by a bullet. Identified as Naib Subedar KVS Reddy, the wounded soldier was immediately shifted to Base Hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed late in the evening.

The slain militants have been identified as Afaqullah Bhat and Abdul Manan Dar, residents of Karimabad and Amarbugh villages of the same area. They are believed to be cadre of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.
